Clean up messy pasted text
Paste something that came out of an email, a text message or a document. Press one button. You get clean, properly formatted text back, ready to paste anywhere. And your text never leaves this browser.
The cleaner
The cleaner did not load. Your text is safe, nothing was sent anywhere. Reload the page and it will usually come back.
Your original stays here.
You can edit this.
Where does your text go?
Nowhere. It stays in your browser.
There is no server doing the work here. The cleaning happens on your own machine, in the page you are looking at. So nothing gets uploaded, nothing gets stored, and nothing gets logged.
You do not have to take my word for it. Open your browser's network tab and watch while you paste. Nothing goes out. Or turn off your wifi and use the page anyway. It still works.
What it fixes
The junk it takes out
- Invisible characters from Word and Google Docs. The ones that look fine now and break the paste later.
- Sentences chopped into short lines by an email client.
- Forwarded headers, quoted replies and "Sent from my iPhone".
- WhatsApp export stamps like
[9/12/26, 3:04 PM] Priya: - Signatures, unsubscribe lines and confidentiality notices.
- Tracking junk on links.
utm_source,fbclidand the rest. - Non-breaking spaces, double spaces and stacks of blank lines.
The formatting it puts back
- Paragraphs that read as paragraphs.
- Headings, where a line was clearly a heading.
- Bullet lists and numbered lists, whatever bullet character was used.
- Bold labels on lines like
When:,Where:,Cost:andRSVP: - Links you can actually click, and email addresses too.
- A plain text version at the same time, for editors that will not take formatting.
Why this exists
This was built for one person doing one job. She sends the emails for a community group. People send her the message however they feel like sending it. Sometimes a text. Sometimes an email. Sometimes an email that was forwarded four times before it got to her.
Then she pastes it into the mailing tool and it comes out a mess.
So she strips all the formatting off. Then she puts the formatting back by hand. Every single time, for every message.
That is the whole reason this page exists. It does the stripping and the formatting in one step. It works for Club Express, and it works for anything else you paste into.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy and no account to make. The page costs me nothing to run, because your browser does all the work. So there is nothing to charge you for.
Does my text get uploaded anywhere?
No. There is no server involved in the cleaning. Your text is read, cleaned and shown back to you inside your own browser. It is never sent, never saved and never logged. Check the network tab if you want to see for yourself.
Does it work with Club Express?
Yes. Press Copy formatted, then paste into the Club Express editor. If the formatting does not come through the way you want, press Copy plain text instead and paste that. One of the two will do what you need.
What if it gets something wrong?
Your original text is still sitting in the left box, exactly as you pasted it. Nothing is destroyed. You can also edit the cleaned version directly before you copy it, or turn individual rules off under Options and clean it again.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Paste, press the button, press copy. The same three steps.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. There is nothing for it to call out to.
What about Word, Google Docs and Outlook?
Those are the usual sources of the mess. Word and Google Docs add invisible characters and curly quotes. Outlook adds the forwarded headers and breaks sentences across lines. All of that gets handled.
Paste yours in and see.
